Wine Festival Milwaukee, Saturday, November 2, noon until 4 pm.
The wine growing region of Bordeaux is home to the most famous Chateaux and appellations in the world of wine. The long list of names are synonymous with the world’s greatest Cabernets and Merlots.
Bordeaux is also famous as the largest wine growing region in all of France. As well as wines from legendary Chateaux and appellations — wines which account for just a small fraction of the region’s 250,000 acres of vineyards — Bordeaux produces a vast variety of delicious wines in every price category from 10,000 producers in 54 appellations around the region.
At the Waterford Wine Company Bordeaux Festival, we want you to taste as many of them as you possibly can.
You’ll experience some of the world’s most expensive Cabs and Merlots from some of Bordeaux’s most prestigious Chateaux, whose stature was established by the region’s 1855 Classification. You’ll also discover some of the world’s most exciting Cabs and Merlots from newly established estates, whose wines are ideal for any cocktail hour or dinner party on any night of the week. Along with the extraordinary Cabs and Merlots from renowned districts of Medoc and Graves and legendary communes of Saint-Estephe, Pauillac, Saint-Julian, Margaux, Pessac-Leognan, Saint-Emilion and Pomerol, you’ll taste the simply delicious wines from less renowned districts like Cotes de Bourg and Cotes de Blaye. You’ll also taste exemplary Sauvignon Blancs and Semillons from appellations across the region, as well as the world’s most exquisite dessert wines from great Chateaux of the fabled appellations of Sauternes and Barsac.
Whether you collect First Growth Bordeaux or whether you want to explore Bordeaux for the very first time, we’d love to see you at our Bordeaux festival. Come along with us to discover and rediscover what makes the region’s Cabernets and Merlots the world’s very best.
