2012 Schieferkopf Riesling Berg
$69.99
Domaine Schieferkopf is located in the village of Reichsfeld, which sits on the only strip of blue schist soil in all of Alsace. The name of the estate literally means “slate-topped.” Schieferkopf Berg is a lieu dit comprised of 500-million-year-old soil, which creates a Riesling of smoke and saline on a palate of apricot, cherries and plums, with a creamy almond texture. At six years old, this wine is just entering its maturity. It’s open, expressive and perfect for us to drink.
