Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Select 375 ml bottle

This is a simple story – one of our wholesalers had a backlog of 375 ml (half-size) bottles of Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Select and we cut a deal on them. You’re the beneficiary!

Single Barrel Select is a selection of, you guessed it, single barrels matured at the highest level of the Jack Daniel’s rickhouse; and then bottled at higher proof (94 proof in this case). The result to my palate is a more complex, richer and rounder version of Jack Daniel’s:

This whiskey opens with classic aromas of vanilla, caramel, brown sugar and cinnamon. On the palate, notes of oak and charcoal become evident, along with sweeter touches of orange peel and honey. The finish is sweet and spicy, with flavors of butterscotch and clove lingering on the tongue. It’s delicious, and at a deliciously reduced price.

And heck, I’ll admit it, the 375ml bottles are rather sharp – they look darn impressive. Give ‘em as a gift, stick ’em on your backbar, whatever – you’re drinking in style.
